We are a young English family who moved to France 6 years ago looking for a more sustainable life. We live at ‘La Pierre Verte’ with our 6 year old daughter, some chickens and a cat. We run a local gardening business and have recently opened a small plant nursery on site www.pepinierelibellule.com. We are working hard at establishing a productive vegetable garden and orchards which, we hope, will soon feed us and provide food for hungry visitors. All guests to the land are warmly welcomed. We are more than happy to give local advice and will be on hand to help you with anything during your stay.
‘La Pierre Verte’ is 5 minutes from the medieval town of Uzès, 30 minutes from Nimes and 40 minutes from Avignon in Southern France. An area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by vineyards, picturesque villages, and an abundance of fresh air. There are lots of stunning local tracks for walkers and cyclists alike and we can loan you good guide books. Our local village, Arpaillargues, is a 10 minute walk away through vineyards and olive groves where you will find a small grocery shop, bakery, restaurant, bar and pharmacy. There will also be some organic home-grown produce for sale on-site (season permitting). There is also an honesty bar stocked with local wine, beer and soft drinks. Once a week you can reserve a table to enjoy home cooked food in the beautiful tranquil setting of our mediterranean garden.
Uzès, our local town, is full of great cafes, restaurants, shops and two weekly markets on Saturdays and Wednesdays. We are one hours drive from the coast if you fancy a day on the beach or 15 minutes from the Pont du Gard for a bit of Roman culture, kayaking or just to cool off in the Gardon river.

‘The entire area, and Uzès, is fantastic with a nice atmosphere. The local wine is delicious and we loved cycling around the countryside.’
